But why is this, why have there been no shifts from educators (in general) to change the medium in which they provide courses? It is believed that it is each student’s personal responsibility to understand and apply good learning philosophies and to dissect the content provided by educators. Yet educators still often provide content in the static format of “lecture content to personal notes”.
Nowadays, the advancements of note-taking software have vastly improved how students are able to log and organise their notes. I often think back to how bad I was at studying when completing my undergraduate course taking hand written notes from lectures without taking in any of what the lecturer was saying and re-writing this over and over in the hopes that some of it would go in.
